Who we are

La Estancia Busuanga is a family-run resort at Sitio Cabilbil, New Busuanga, Busuanga, Palawan 5317, Philippines. For any question about your personal data, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to reservations@laestanciabusuanga.com or call +63 956 321 8019.

We act as the data controller for information collected through this website. Where our booking engine, payment processor or analytics providers process data on our behalf, they act as our processors under contract.

What we collect

We only collect what we need in order to answer you, host you, and improve the site.

• Enquiry and booking details — your name, email address, phone number, country, travel dates, guest numbers, room or package preference, and anything you choose to tell us in a message, including dietary needs, accessibility requirements or the occasion you are celebrating.
• Reservation records — your stay history, special requests, and correspondence with us.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our booking engine and payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
• Newsletter subscription — your email address, if you choose to give it.
• Technical and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and approximate location, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

Sensitive information

Some details you share to help us host you well — a food allergy, a mobility need, a medical condition we should know about — may count as sensitive personal information under Philippine law. We collect it only because you have given it to us for that purpose, we share it only with the members of our team who need it to look after you, and we delete it once it is no longer relevant to your stay.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation or itinerary.
• To take, confirm, amend and honour your reservation.
• To arrange transfers, tours, meals and any experience you have asked for.
• To send you booking confirmations and practical pre-arrival information.
• To send occasional news and offers, if you have subscribed — never otherwise.
• To understand how the website is used so we can make it clearer and faster.
• To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations in the Philippines.

Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent (enquiries, newsletter, cookies), the performance of a contract (your reservation), our legitimate interests (improving the site, preventing fraud), and compliance with legal obligations. Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) you may withdraw consent at any time, and if you are in the EEA or UK the equivalent GDPR bases apply.

Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: to make the site function, to measure how it is used, and — if enabled — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

• Essential — remember your preferences and keep the booking flow working. These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics — Google Analytics, which tells us which pages are read and where visitors leave. Data is aggregated and IP addresses are anonymised.
• Advertising — the Meta pixel, which allows us to show relevant advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to measure whether it works.
• You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the booking form from working.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, ever. We share it only with parties who need it to deliver your stay:

• Our booking engine and channel manager, which holds your reservation.
• Our payment processor, which takes your payment securely.
• Transfer drivers, boat operators and tour guides — given only the details required for your arrangement.
• Our email and analytics providers.
• Government authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.
• Some of these providers operate outside the Philippines. Where that happens we rely on their contractual commitments to protect your data to a standard equivalent to Philippine law.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for two years, in case you return to us. Reservation and financial records are kept for ten years, as Philippine tax and accounting rules require. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained for twenty-six months.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to object, to access your data, to correct it, to have it erased or blocked, to damages, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us and we will respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines.

Security

We use encrypted connections, restrict access to reservation records to the staff who need them, and require our processors to maintain appropriate safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your data we would notify you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.

Children

Children are welcome as guests, but this website is not directed at them and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under eighteen. Bookings that include children are made by the accompanying adult.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated directly to guests with active reservations.
